Rules & VQ Ratings

10 Simple Rules for Trading with Me:

  1. Do not write on or affix the labels yourself. Just put a Post-It on the tape case or tape, so I know what it is and can label it myself. ESPECIALLY don't write directly on DVD's.

  2. If you have something on my Want List, you are pretty much guaranteed that I will want to trade with you. If not, send me your tape list, because you may still have something I want.

  3. If I come to you, I send first. If you come to me, you send first. If we already know each other, we can send at the same time.

  4. Only use high quality, name-brand tapes (e.g. Sony, TDK, etc.). I will do the same. Note: Memorex does not count as name-brand tapes. They suck.

  5. DO NOT TAPE IN LP! My VCRs are not fans of LP mode. If something will fit in SP, great, do that. If not, put it in SLP/EP.

  6. Please be honest about video quality; it's not worth lying about. I usually prefer tapes in EX (excellent) or nearly EX condition, but I'm willing to be lenient (especially if it's something I can't find in better condition).

  7. I'll trade hour-for-hour, event-for-event, tape-for-tape, whatever. I'm quite flexible as long as things are fair.

  8. I can't believe I have to say this, but USE NEW TAPES. I don't want the first 5 minutes of Home Improvement or whatever shit you taped over.

  9. Feel free to put multiple events on a tape for me IF, and only IF, all the events on the tape are in the same category. The categories are WWE/WCW, Indies, Compilations, and Japan. I will usually put multiple shows on a tape, unless it adversely affects the quality, or you specifically request that I don't.

  10. If you screw me over, I will do my utmost to blackball you.

For shipping from the U.S. (or anywhere else) to Canada:

On the Customs label, mark GIFT AND NOT MERCHANDISE. Mark the Value at $15 or less. Otherwise, I have to pay an assload of needless duty fees. This makes me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

Video Quality (VQ) Ratings, in descending order:

- EX (Excellent)

- VG/EX (Somewhere between Very Good & Excellent)

- VG (Very Good)

- G/VG (Somewhere between Good & Very Good)

- G (Good)

- F/G (Somewhere between Fair & Good)

- F (Fair)

If the quality on a tape varies (such as on compilation tapes), I will list the extremes that that quality varies. For example, F/G-VG/EX means that the quality ranges from F/G to VG/EX (but hopefully the the quality on most tapes isn't that complicated).

That's about it. If there's something I didn't cover here, feel free to ask.
